The ROS System: Oil is pumped out of the engine from the end of a withdrawal tube and is delivered to the reserve tank. At the same time oil is added to the engine at a slower rate. Oil will rise to the end of the tube and stay there, regardless of tilt or changes in operation. The engine and tank oils are mixed, giving cleaner oil, and longer oil changes.
